Egg cartons, tissue boxes, birds and airplane seats are the subjects of Brood, my second solo exhibition at Nina Freudenheim Gallery which opened on March 6, 2020. With drawing from direct obesrvation as daily practice, mundane objects, pop culture, repetition, and nature corkscrews into a lifelong obsession with the passage of time. Each image is isolated on its own white page and as a member of a larger family. The seemingly motley imagery are series unto themselves and weave together with mutlipe variations. These small works on paper are rendered in pen and ink, watercolor, and colored pencil. The exhibtion remains up, yet shuttered to the public because of the pandemic.
